HC Deb 04 December 1912 vol 44 cc2281-2
44. Mr. STANIER

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture if he has now been able to arrange for the continuation of the experiments and investigations on wart disease in potatoes, as previously carried on for the Board by the Harper Adams Agricultural College; and, if so, what will be the amount given for this research work?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of AGRICULTURE (Mr. Runciman)

It is not proposed to make any special Grant to the college for the specific purpose to which the hon. Member refers, but the Grant made to the college for general purposes should enable work in connection with wart disease to be continued if the college so desire.
