HC Deb 04 December 1912 vol 44 cc2266-7
10. Mr. BURGOYNE

asked whether officers of the rank of commander Royal Navy and Royal Marine officers serving at the Admiralty on the War Staff are in receipt of consolidated rates of pay of from £100 to £150 per annum less than officers of corresponding rank serving on the General Staff at the War Office; and, if so, whether the First Lord of the Admiralty will take steps to raise the pay of the War Staff serving in London to bring it to an equality with that of the General Staff?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The pay of officers serving on the War Staff at the Admiralty in fixed with relation to the pay of Naval and Marine officers serving in other appointments, and not necessarily to that of Army officers.
