The amounts of the loans sanctioned by the Local Government Board to local authorities in rural areas for the erection of houses under Part III. of the Housing of the Working Classes Act, 1890, since the year 1890 are as follows:—1890–99, £3,500; 1900–05, £6,800; 1906–10, £37,280; 1911 and the first three months of 1912, £29,688.
