Mr. WHELER

asked the Prime Minister whether the leaders of the Irish Nationalist party had been consulted with reference to the proposals to be contained in the Home Rule Bill; and, if so, whether, as the Bill was for the better government of Ireland, he would also consult the leaders of other political parties in that country?

The PRIME MINISTER

Conferences have taken place in regard to the Bill between members of the Government and some of the Irish Members. The Government must exercise their own discretion as to whom they consult in such matters.

Does the right hon. Gentleman give preferential consideration to Celtic as against Anglo-Saxon advisers in these matters?
