HC Deb 01 April 1912 vol 36 cc870-1
Mr. ORMSBY-GORE

asked the Prime Minister when he proposes to introduce the Welsh Disestablishment and Dif endowment Bill, or whether he proposes to postpone consideration of this measure till Home Rule for Ireland has been disposed of?

The PRIME MINISTER

I cannot yet give a definite date for the introduction of the Bill referred to by the hon. Member, but the answer to the latter part of his question is in the negative.

Earl WINTERTON

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider the burden laid on this House if any portion of either of these Bills is considered in Committee upstairs while at the same time one of them is being considered in Committee of the Whole House, and will he take steps to avoid that?

The PRIME MINISTER

I will consider the whole question.

Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

asked the Prime Minister whether ministers of the Church of England in Wales will, in the event of Disestablishment, be permitted to sit, if elected, as Members of this House?

Mr. McKENNA

The Prime Minister has asked me to answer this question. The answer is in the affirmative.
