HC Deb 01 April 1912 vol 36 cc872-3
Mr. GOLDSTONE

asked the President of the Board of Education whether his attention has been called to the appointment of a school medical officer and a deputy school medical officer by the London County Council without reference to the Education Committee; and whether, seeing that it is provided by the Education Acts that all matters relating to the exercise by the council of their powers under the Acts, except the power of raising a rate or borrowing money, shall stand referred to the Education Committee, he proposes to take any action in the matter?

Mr. PEASE

With reference to the first part of the question, I have received no official information on this subject beyond a notification of the appointment of the officer referred to. With regard to the second part of the question, I do not think that any occasion has arisen for me to intervene in the master.
