HC Deb 01 April 1912 vol 36 c872
Sir FREDERICK BANBURY

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether the chairmen of the district and sub-district boards to be appointed under the Coal Mines (Minimum Wage) Act will be paid; and, if so, by whom; and by whom will the expenses of their staff be paid?

Mr. BUXTON

In the opinion of the Government the payment of the chairmen of the Joint District Boards should be a public charge.

Sir F. BANBURY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say when the Supplementary Estimates dealing with this new charge will be introduced?

Mr. BUXTON

That I cannot say.
