HC Deb 26 October 1911 vol 30 c299
Colonel BATHURST

asked whether, under the National Insurance Bill, the contributions paid by an employed contributor earning under £160 per annum as a member of an approved society, or as a deposit contributor, will be forfeited should he cease to be qualified under the Bill owing to the increase of his salary to a sum amounting to more than £160 per annum?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

As the Bill stands the contributions would be forfeited, but my right hon. Friend has promised to introduce on Report an Amendment removing this anomaly.

Colonel BATHURST

May I ask whether under the Bill it is not quite clear the contributions will be forfeited?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

That is what I said in answer to the hon. Member.
