HC Deb 26 October 1911 vol 30 cc297-8
Mr. WORTHINGTON - EVANS

asked whether a certified assistant to an apothecary under The Apothecaries Act, 1815, now acting as one of the dispensers at the Metropolitan Hospital, Kingsland Road, will be qualified under Section 14 (5) (3) of the National Insurance Bill as now amended; and, if not, whether, in view of the undertaking given by him, such further Amendment will be proposed by the Government as may be necessary to prevent his exclusion?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

Such a person, if he has been acting for not less than three years, could be employed by a pharmacist in dispensing under the Bill. My right hon. Friend is prepared to consider whether any Amendment is necessary on Report.

Mr. WORTHINGTON-EVANS

Will the right hon. Gentleman take into account that there are five hundred of these dispensers, and they thus affect a large class?
