§ Mr. TOUCHEasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether, having regard to the interval since the issue of the Report of the Customs and Excise Amalgamation Committee, he will give instructions for 418 the immediate payment of the arrears due under paragraphs 168–171 of that Report; whether any, and, if so, what interest is proposed on the sums due as from 1st April, 1909; and whether, if the delay is caused by calculations of interest, he will cause immediate effect to be given to payment of the principal sums, leaving other payments to a later, if more convenient, date?
