HC Deb 29 November 1911 vol 32 c397
Lord HENRY CAVENDISH-BENTINCK

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether his attention has been called to the probability that young working men and women will lose their employment if the higher rate of contributions by the employer under the Second Schedule, Part I., of the National Insurance Bill applies to persons over twenty-one only; and whether, to obviate this result, he will consent to the age limit being lowered to eighteen years?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I do not agree with the Noble Lord in his estimate of probabilities, and I cannot adopt his suggestion.
