HC Deb 28 November 1911 vol 32 c195
Mr. BOTTOMLEY

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether, in view of the fact that the Board sits every day, he will give the respective attendances for the past week of the Lord President of the Councils, His Majesty's Principal Secretaries of State, the First Commissioner of the Treasury, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, and the Secretary for Scotland?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The President was the only member of the Board who sat last week.

Mr. BOTTOMLEY

Is not the right hon. Gentleman aware that there is very high judicial authority for the dictum that one man cannot be "a meeting"; that being so, will he consult the Attorney-General as to whether under these circumstances the proceeding of the Board are not illegal?

MARQUESS of TULLIBARDINE

May I ask the right hon. Gentleman what was the opinion of the Board last week on the question of splitting up the Board?
