HC Deb 27 November 1911 vol 32 c33
Sir CLEMENT - KINLOCH COOKE

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, with reference to the recent Walfisch Bay arbitration award, he can explain the position of the dispute between the British and German Governments regarding the Orange River boundary separating Damaraland from Cape Colony?

Mr. ACLAND

The question at issue with the German Government is the exact interpretation to be placed on the expression "North Bank" of the Orange River, contained in Article III. (1) of the Anglo-German Agreement of the 1st of July, 1890. The matter is under discussion with the German Government.
