Gentleman say if county Cavan evicted tenants have been put on these lands, and what are the 1029 names and last place of residence of the new tenants; and how many county Cavan certified evicted tenants remain unrestored or unprovided with land?
§ Mr. ILLINGWORTHThe Estates Commissioners' formal proposal for the purchase of these lands has been accepted by the owner, and the Commissioners hope to take over possession at an early date. The Commissioners, after careful consideration, and in the exercise of the discretion vested in them by Statute, have approved of a scheme for the distribution of the lands, but at the present stage of the proceedings it would be contrary to their practice to discuss the details of such schemes. The number of applications received from persons seeking reinstatement as county Cavan evicted tenants, or their representatives, who have been provisionally noted for consideration in the allotment of untenanted land is twenty-four.
