HC Deb 21 November 1911 vol 31 c1018
Mr. C. BATHURST

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether, before recently issuing the Board's leaflet on the construction of cowsheds, it was ascertained from the Local Government Board that the recommendations contained therein were in accordance with the views of that Department and likely to conform to the provisions of the prospective Milk and Dairies Bill to be introduced next Session?

Mr. LEWIS

The observations of the Local Government Board on the leaflet were invited before it was published, and a number of useful suggestions were made, which were incorporated in the leaflet.

Mr. C. BATHURST

That is not an answer to my question.

Mr. SPEAKER

I am the judge of that and not the hon. Member. If the hon. Member has any fresh matter arising out of the answer, he may ask a supplementary question, but if he only asks the same question over again in rather different language he cannot expect a further reply.

Mr. C. BATHURST

I appeal to you in common fairness to say whether or not the hon. Gentleman gave an answer to my question. [The hon. Member read the question.]

Mr. SPEAKER

If the hon. Member has not received any answer he may assume that the answer is in the negative. If the Local Government Board had given the information to the Board of Agriculture, the hon. Gentleman would have said so.
