HC Deb 20 November 1911 vol 31 cc825-6
Mr. SNOWDEN

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he has received the resolution passed by the recent meeting of the Associated Chambers of Commerce held at Dublin, pointing out several hardships and inequalities of the present income laws as to allowances for depreciation on buildings, machinery, and wasting assets; if he has given his attention to the matter; and if he is willing to set up the committee asked for to inquire into the whole question of a revision of the Acts which regulate the Income Tax?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I have received the resolution referred to. The questions raised in the memorials and resolutions forwarded to me by various Chambers of Commerce are at present under consideration, and I am unable as yet to say whether the time has come to set up another Committee to inquire into them.
