HC Deb 14 November 1911 vol 31 c178
Mr. KEIR HARDIE

asked what special measures, if any, were adopted for dealing with the plague in and around Delhi; or whether he can say to what he attributes the practical disappearance of the plague from that district?

Mr. MONTAGU

In the Delhi district the ordinary measures for dealing with plague have been applied. The freedom of the district from plague during the third quarter of the year is not unusual. In 1910 no case was reported from 1st July up to the third week of September. This year the whole of the Punjab from July up to date has been exceptionally free from plague.
