§ Mr. CROFTasked the Postmaster-General whether the Colonial Office have yet come to any decision with regard to an improved cable system between the Mother-Country and the Dominions?
§ The POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. Herbert Samuel)The Imperial Conference had under consideration the question of laying a State-owned transatlantic cable, but it was postponed in view of the possibility of considerable reductions being effected in the cable rates. I am not yet in a position to make a statement on that subject.
