HC Deb 13 November 1911 vol 31 c29
Mr. WHITEHOUSE

asked the hon. Member for Southampton, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether further facilities can be afforded in the Royal parks for games for school children?

The TREASURER of the HOUSEHOLD (Mr. Dudley Ward)

Arrangements are being made for school children to use a portion of Hyde Park for organised games under the direction of the London County Council. The First Commissioner hopes for considerable development in the use of this park for the enjoyment of games by the public. The extent to which this privilege can be granted will of course be conditioned by the effect upon the grass.
