HC Deb 13 November 1911 vol 31 c19
Mr. RAMSAY MACDONALD

asked the Prime Minister whether he is in a position to make any announcement regarding the making of such a change in the law relating to education as would remove the grievances which have given rise to passive resistance?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Asquith)

The Government have every intention of introducing legislation to remove the grievances referred to by my hon. Friend during the life of the present Parliament. I am unable at this moment to say more.

Mr. JAMES HOPE

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider the danger of provoking passive resistance at the other end?

Colonel YATE

Is there such a thing as passive resistance at the present time?
