HC Deb 13 November 1911 vol 31 cc25-6
Mr. BOYTON

asked whether the attention of the Commissioners of Woods has been called to the action of Lord Howard de Walden in offering to the tenants on his Marylebone estate an extension of their leases to 999 years; and if they will consider the desirability of taking the like action on the Crown estate, particularly in Regent Street?

The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. McKinnon Wood)

The Commissioners of Woods have only such information as has been given in the public Press of the action of Lord Howard de Walden with reference to the grant to tenants on his estate of 999 years' leases. The Commissioners have no power to take similar action on the Crown estates in London.
