HC Deb 08 November 1911 vol 30 cc1634-5
Lord CHARLES BERESFORD

asked whether the inspectors of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children are nearly all pensioners from the Navy, Army, and Police; whether the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children allow the following grants of sick pay to their staff, namely, for the first four months of sickness, full pay; for the next six months of sickness, halt-pay; whether he is aware that the committee of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children grant a sum of money as a special allowance on retirement from the society's service through ill-health; whether for these benefits the men have to contribute nothing; whether, under the National Insurance Bill, these men would have to pay 4d. a week and only receive 10s. a week benefit; whether the officers of the society who are not Navy, Army, or Police pensioners would, in these circumstances, suffer severely; and whether the Chancellor of the Exchequer can see his way to exclude the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children from the National Insurance Bill?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

I must refer the Noble Lord to the answer that I have just given to the question of the hon. Member for the Stowmarket Division.
