HC Deb 08 November 1911 vol 30 cc1636-7
Mr. BAIRD

asked in what manner provision is made in the National Insurance Bill to exempt from compulsory insurance married women who are not solely or mainly dependent on their own earnings and whose husbands are insured persons?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD

Any employed person who is ordinarily dependent on some other person can obtain a certificate of exemption, under Clause 2 (1) (b).

Mr. BAIRD

Does that cover the case of those women referred to in the telegram received from the Master of Elibank in South Somerset?

Mr. SPEAKER

It is impossible for the right hon. Gentleman to answer a question like that.
