§ Mr. JOHN WARDasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has received any communication from either the Portuguese or Spanish Governments relating to the use of the frontiers of Spain for collecting and organising filibustering expeditions into the territories of the Portuguese Republic; and, if so, what has been the result of such communications?
§ Mr. ACLANDThe Portuguese Government have informed His Majesty's Government of the presence of monarchist bands on the frontier between Spain and Portugal; but we cannot interfere in the matter, which must obviously be treated by direct communication between the two Governments concerned.
§ Mr. WATTWill the hon. Gentleman take steps to prevent these expeditions being engineered or originated from this country?
