HC Deb 29 May 1911 vol 26 c684
Mr. O'GRADY

asked whether, in the case of a Government contract when certain work is done by women which is and has always been done by men employed by other firms in the same district, it is held to be a violation of the fair-wage clause if the women are paid less than men employed on the same work?

Mr. BUXTON

I fear I am not in a position to give a general answer to a hypothetical question of this character, but if my hon. Friend has information regarding a definite case I have no doubt it will receive careful consideration if he will forward particulars to the department concerned.
