HC Deb 29 May 1911 vol 26 cc695-6
Mr. KING

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he received in January last a petition from all the parents and ratepayers in the hamlet of Winchmore Hill, Bucks, asking him to direct the county council to provide a council school in the district; and, if so, will he say what answer has been returned, and when the unanimous desire of these parents and ratepayers is to be attained?

Mr. TREVELYAN

Last February the Board received a petition, signed by rate- payers and parents of children in the hamlet of Winchmore Hill, requesting the Board to decide that the proposed voluntary school was not required and that a council school for children of all ages was necessary. The Board, having taken all the circumstances of the case into consideration, have decided that the proposed voluntary school is not necessary.
