HC Deb 29 May 1911 vol 26 cc696-7
Mr. KING

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he will take steps to compel the London County Council to replace the Portland school, Marylebone, by a new school of approximately the same size in the same neighbourhood, as recommended by the Board of Education after a public inquiry had been held on their behalf nearly two years ago?

Mr. TREVELYAN

The Board are in close communication with the London County Council with reference to the whole question of the provision of school accommodation in the council's area, and especially with a view to the adoption of a well-considered programme of building extending over a number of years. The case of the school referred to in the question will be considered in connection with the rest, I hope, at an early date.
