HC Deb 29 May 1911 vol 26 cc706-7
EARL of RONALDSHAY

asked if the examination for girl and women clerkships in the General Post Office is held twice a year; if it is proposed to hold it only once a year in future; and, if so, what are the reasons for the proposed change?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

The answer to the first two questions is in the affirmative. The proposed change was suggested by the Civil Service Commissioners, who are responsible for holding these examinations. There was no reason, from a Post Office point of view, for objecting to the proposal.
