HC Deb 25 May 1911 vol 26 c434
MARQUESS of HAMILTON

asked the hon. Member for Southampton, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, if it is proposed to remove to the new Science Museum at South Kensington the collections of practical geology now exhibited in Jermyn Street?

The TREASURER of the HOUSEHOLD (Mr. Dudley Ward)

My right hon. Friend has asked me to answer this question. The Departmental Committee which I appointed to investigate various questions in regard to the Science Museum at South Kensington and the Geological Museum in. Jermyn Street referred to the matter named in the question in their First Report recently laid on the Table of this House. Their remarks on the point will be found in Section 33 of the Report. That Committee are now considering the question further, in the light of the decision recently made by the Government as regards the space available on the site at South Kensington.
