HC Deb 25 May 1911 vol 26 c440
Mr. AGG-GARDNER

asked if, under the National Insurance Bill employers will be entitled to deduct the proportion of Income Tax from the amount they will have to pay for the insurance of their employés under the provisions of the Bill?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I cannot, of course, pronounce upon the interpretation of the Income Tax Acts, but I know no reason to suppose that the employer's contributions under the Bill will not be a deductible expense for the purpose of arriving at his income for the purposes of Income Tax.
