asked the Postmaster-General whether the girls employed upon post office work in stationery, grocery, and other shops where post office business is carried on, and whose hours at present are from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., are to come within the scope of the Shops Bill?

The asistants employed on post office work in sub-post offices carried on in connection with shops would come within the scope of the Shops Bill, and special provisions relating to such offices are embodied in Clause 20.
