HC Deb 24 May 1911 vol 26 cc237-8
Mr. ARTHUR LEE

asked whether arrangements could be made to give the cadets of the Royal Naval Colleges at Osborne and Dartmouth an opportunity of witnessing the Coronation Naval Review on 24th June?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Mr. McKenna)

His Majesty's ship "Eclipse" will be used for the accommodation of cadets from the Royal Naval Colleges at Osborne and Dartmouth at the review, the arrangements being left to the discretion of the captains of the Colleges. If further accommodation is required, additional arrangements will be considered.

Mr. LEE

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the ships will be in the line, or whether the cadets will have an opportunity of taking part in the procession, so that they may see the Fleet?

Mr. McKENNA

I do not think so. I have not considered the point, but I do not think it would be possible for any other ships to take part in the actual procession.

Mr. ASHLEY

Will the ships carrying Members of the House of Lords and of this House follow the procession?

Mr. McKENNA

I would rather postpone a statement on that point.
