§ Mr. LANSBURYasked the President of the Local Government Board if his attention had been called to a letter sent by the Metropolitan Asylums Board to the Camberwell Board of Guardians, in which it was stated that unless the board of guardians consented to the vaccination of children under its control, but now residing in schools under the charge of the Metro- 19 politan Asylums Board, such children would not be retained in the schools; and whether he proposed to take any action in the matter?
§ Mr. BURNSI learn that the Metropolitan Asylum managers have been in communication with the Camberwell Board of Guardians with regard to the vaccination of certain children chargeable to Camberwell who were in special institutions for children under the managers, and whose vaccination was recommended to the managers by their medical advisers. The managers appear to have requested the guardians to obtain the consent of the parents of the children to the vaccination taking place. After some correspondence the guardians have, I am informed, agreed to ascertain the wishes of the parents in the matter.
