Mr. KELLYasked the Secretary to the Treasury what county councils in Ireland have so far received grants from the Road Board for road improvements; and how many Irish county councils have applied for grants?
§ The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Hobhouse)All the county councils in Ireland (thirty-three in number) have applied for grants. Grants have been indicated to all of them and details of the proposed works of road improvement are now in course of settlement. In only one case so far has the grant been actually received, namely, in the case of Sligo, the county council of which received £2,000 on the 10th instant.
