HC Deb 04 May 1911 vol 25 c593
Mr. WILLIAM PEEL

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether the Return of new posts created as a result of legislation passed during the last six years, moved for by the hon. Member for Taunton, has been prepared; and, if so, when will it be laid upon the Table of the House?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

I have nothing to add to the reply I gave to the hon Member yesterday.

Mr. PEEL

As I never asked a question yesterday, may I inquire when the Return will be ready? Is the hon. Gentleman aware that this Return was moved for as long ago as April 10th, and can he say when the Return will be laid?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

I replied yesterday, and I understand the reply was in today's newspapers. Replies are being received from the Public Departments which it is necessary to consult; and the Return will be laid as soon as the information is complete.—[OFFICIAL REPORT, 3rd May, 1911, col. 563.]

Mr. PEEL

Can the hon. Gentleman say when the Return will be ready?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

As soon as possible.

Mr. CHIOZZA MONEY

Will the hon. Gentleman prepare an estimate in the Return of the number of new officials that would be required if we have Tariff Reform?
