§ Mr. BIRRELLThe constabulary accounts are not kept by counties; it is therefore not possible to give the exact figures asked for. It has been estimated, however, that the average cost of the county Leitrim force for the three years mentioned is about £17,500 per annum. The charges made against the county for extra police were: 1908–9, £620; 1909–10, 2178; and 1910–11, nil. There is no intention at present to reduce the force in the county or the number of police stations.
