HC Deb 01 May 1911 vol 25 cc12-3
Mr. CHARLES BATHURST

asked whether the subcutaneous injection of the culture known as anti-abortin, prepared by the chief veterinary officer of the Board, has been proved to be a certain preventative of contagious abortion in cattle; and, if so, what steps are the Board taking with the object of making known this discovery and so checking the serious and increasing prevalence of this disease?

Sir EDWARD STRACHEY

The Committee on abortion are not yet in a position to form an opinion on the result of the large number of field experiments which are being conducted under their auspices both in Great Britain and in Ireland. They will report to the Board in due course.
