§ Mr. CROFTasked the President of the Board of Education whether his attention has been called to the fact that the managers of the Talacre Roman Catholic school, Flintshire, gave notice on 9th May, 1910, under the Education Act, 1902, Section 8 (1); that this notice has been supported by the county council and the local education committee; that no decision has been come to by the Board of Education, and that therefore the school is still being maintained out of private funds; and whether, having regard to these facts, he will instruct the Board to provide Grants to the school in question?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part of the question, I understand that the local education authority support the proposal subject to certain modifications. With regard to the rest of the question, the Board are awaiting the reply of the promoters of the school to inquiries addressed to them as to the capacity of the school to comply 882 with the requirements of the Code under the trusts which affect it at present. A letter was received from the promoters last Saturday, but it is not yet clear what the precise position is.
