HC Deb 22 March 1911 vol 23 cc389-90
Mr. CROOKS

asked the Home Secretary whether he would take steps to secure the grant of a free pardon to ex-Sergeant Price, who was recently released from prison, and on whose behalf a petition was presented to the House signed by more than 70,000 persons, seeing that it would enable Price to resume his pension, of which he stands in need?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I can find no sufficient ground for advising the grant of a free pardon in this case. It would not affect the question of the restoration of his pension, which is a matter in the discretion of the Royal Chelsea Hospital Commissioners.
