HC Deb 22 March 1911 vol 23 cc410-1
Mr. SAMUEL ROBERTS

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, whether his attention has been called to a resolution passed at a recent meeting of the Associated Chambers of Commerce urging the Government to cause inquiry to be made to mitigate grievances under the Income Tax Acts, especially with regard to the inadequate allowance made for depreciation, and to the fact that no allowance was made for depreciation of buildings, fixtures, fittings, and furniture; and what steps he proposes to take to meet the grievances complained of?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

I beg to refer to the reply given to the hon. Member for Mid-Armagh on the 20th instant.
