HC Deb 21 March 1911 vol 23 c237
Mr. GILL

asked the Home Secretary if it is his intention on an early date to appoint a Committee to inquire into the working of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1906, with a view to an amending Act being passed?

Mr. CHURCHILL

I think longer experience of the working of this Act is necessary before it is again made the subject of inquiry and review.

Mr. MORTON

asked whether the Secretary to the Treasury is taking any steps to secure the application of the Workmen's Compensation Act to any accident to a Census enumerator?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

I have already stated, in reply to questions addressed to me by the hon. Member for Westhoughton on the 24th November last and by the hon. and gallant Member for East Renfrewshire on the 1st instant, that no special steps appear to be necessary. Any claims which become payable will be met out of the ordinary provision.

Mr. NEWMAN

Will a blow from a Suffragette be an accident?
