HC Deb 21 March 1911 vol 23 cc224-5
Mr. HUNT

asked whether, in view of the fact that Mr. William Winnifir, of Wootton, Bridgenorth, let a horse for hire to Trooper Davies, of the Shropshire Yeomanry, for the training last year, and that the horse got influenza when in camp, the War Office will pay the veterinary and other expenses caused from the horse contracting influenza during the Yeomanry training?

Mr. HALDANE

This would appear to be a matter for the county associations. I have no information on the subject.

Mr. HUNT

Is there no War Office Regulation about horses being fit before entering the Service?

Mr. HALDANE

That is just one of the matters which we have devolved on the county associations, which were formed for the purpose of dealing with these questions.
