HC Deb 21 March 1911 vol 23 c241
Mr. CHARLES BATHURST

asked whether the Danish Government still make a subsidy to the Union Steamship Company for the conveyance of Danish agricultural produce to this country; if so, what is the amount of such subsidy; and what does the Union Company actually give in return for such subsidy in the way of facilities or encouragement to Danish export trade?

The UNDER-SECRETARY for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. McKinnon Wood)

I have no more recent information on this subject than is contained in the Diplomatic and Consular Report on the Finances of Denmark for the years 1905–06 and 1906–07, which was published in April, 1908 (No. 3967, Annual Series). I will, however, cause an inquiry to be made, if the hon. Member so desires.
