Mr. SILVESTER HORNEasked whether, in consequence of the extra public holidays at the Coronation, it is proposed this year to omit the usual Bank Holiday at Whitsuntide; and whether it is proposed that the public holiday in connection with the Coronation should cover more than the actual Coronation day?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThe answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. It is not proposed that the holiday in connection with the Coronation should cover more than the actual day of he Coronation, except in the county of London, in which, as a matter of public convenience, it is proposed that the day of the first Royal procession—namely, Friday, 23rd June—should be declared a Bank Holiday.
