Mr. CARLILE

I beg to move, "That the Chairman do report Progress, and ask leave to sit again."

Mr. McKENNA

I would ask the hon. Gentleman not to press this Motion. The Eleven o'clock Rule has been suspended in order to enable us to close the necessary financial business before the end of the year.

Mr. CARLILE

The Government have done very well.

Mr. McKENNA

It is not a question of the Government having done well on the business which has gone before. Certain stages have to be got through before the 31st of March, and the Eleven o'clock Rule has been suspended to enable us to get through certain stages to-day.

Mr. CARLILE

I must press the Motion.

Question, "That the Chairman do report Progress, and ask leave to sit again," put, and negatived.

Resolved, "That towards making good the Supply granted to His Majesty for the Service of the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1912, the sum of £43,081,500 be granted out of the Consolidated Fund of the United Kingdom."
