HC Deb 20 March 1911 vol 23 c29
Mr. GREENE

asked whether it is the intention of the Government during the present Session to take any steps, either legislative or administrative, with the object of checking the immigration of criminal and undesirable aliens into this country?

The PRIME MINISTER

My right hon. Friend the Home Secretary is in course of preparing a measure which will deal with certain aspects of this subject; but no statement can be made at present. The question of administrative action will in the ordinary course be considered in reference to the Report of the Committee on the establishment of a receiving house, now before Parliament.
