HC Deb 14 March 1911 vol 22 c2061
Mr. STAVELEY-HILL

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1), whether he would consider, when undertaking a further issue of Irish Land Stock, to issue it in such a way that it would appeal to the small investor, especially in Ireland; and (2), whether his attention had been drawn to the suggestions recently made for popularising Consols; and whether he proposes to take any steps, in addition to the arrangements already in operation through the Post Office Savings Bank, to induce the small investor to take up small quantities of Consols?

Mr. ILLINGWORTH

With regard to these two questions, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer of my right hon. Friend the Financial Secretary to the Treasury to the hon. Member for West Limerick last Thursday.
