HC Deb 13 March 1911 vol 22 c1851
Mr. LANSBURY

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he would cause inquiries to be made from the great trade unions, skilled and unskilled, as to whether it was the usual custom for workpeople to be paid wages for such holidays as Christmas Day, Good Friday, and bank holidays, and other occasions on which the various factories, warehouses, etc., are closed?

Mr. BUXTON

On the schedules issued in connection with the recent Board of Trade inquiry into wages, questions were asked as to the number of recognised holidays and payment therefor. The information obtained was given in a summarised form in the five Reports already published, and the subject will be dealt with in the further Reports now in course of preparation. I am sending to my hon. Friend a list of references to the volumes already issued.

Mr. LANSBURY

Will the right hon. Gentleman convey that information to the Prime Minister?
