HC Deb 13 March 1911 vol 22 c1859
Mr. LYNCH

asked whether, in view of the prejudice caused to the Commonwealth of Australia by reference to Australia as a Colony, and to Australians as Colonists, and to the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth as a Colonial Premier, he will consider the desirability of creating a separate Department of State to deal with all affairs relating to the self-governing Dominions, and to relegate to the Colonial Office all matters having exclusive reference to the British Colonies?

Mr. HARCOURT

This matter will be discussed with the Dominion Prime Ministers at the approaching Imperial Conference.
