HC Deb 07 March 1911 vol 22 c1027
Mr. JOHN

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture if he will state how the aggregate amount devoted to agriculture in Great Britain and Ireland during the financial year has been distributed over the four constituent countries of England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, including Monmouthshire?

Sir E. STRACHEY

The net expenditure of the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries for the year 1909–10 was apportioned as follows:—

England and Wales £146,554.
Scotland £14,750
It is not possible to state the expenditure for Wales and Monmouthshire separately. Perhaps my hon. Friend will address his inquiry, so far as it relates to Ireland, to the Chief Secretary.

Mr. C. BATHURST

Is not some of that money expended on fish?

Sir E. STRACHEY

It includes the total net expenditure of the Board of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Mr. C. BATHURST

The question is the amount devoted to agriculture.
